Good news everyone! Or, well, news anyway.

We’re bringing accountability hours back. Sorry, after the holidays, I moved so it’s been a lot of settling in and GETTING CATS!

Ahem, and now I am ready to be presentable again.

So if you want an hour of peace and quiet AND CATS! I’ve created a calendar for folks to keep on top of these. Going to try out some Sundays.

→ ADD THE CALENDAR HERE ←

We’re also going to be doing other events soon. Tutorials. Education stuff. Life interviews, we’ll see.

Speaking of education, we launched lesson one in our workshop on sentences over at Forever Workshop. I’ve been obsessed with sentences since I read Reading Like a Writer, and Nina Schuyler knows her stuff, damn. I’ll be taking it as well so if you’re into words touching other words, come have a peek. I did not mean that to be sexual. Don't be weird.

And hey, we’re thinking of trying out a weekly takeover with lit mags. Meaning, we want to have lit mag editors guest write all about the behind-the-scenes of the submissions process at their mag to kick off these Monday newsletters.

What do you think? Would you be interested in getting breakdowns of what the submissions process is like behind the scenes of different mags?

Loading...

And if you’re a lit mag editor who’d like to do a takeover, let us know.

This week, we’ve got:

  • 69 Recently Opened Submission Calls

  • 13 Last Chance to Submit

  • 15 Theme Calls to Inspire You!

  • 16 New Magazines Added to Our Database

  • 5 Lit Mags That Are Always Open for Submissions

And last week, we published:

On Building a "Very Gay Lit and Art Space" with Nat Raum

Submissions Help Line

Have a question about submitting? Visit our submission helpline, ask us, and we’ll answer it in next week’s Where To Submit This Week. And if you are a paid subscriber you’re welcome to our chat here on Sub Club where you can ask questions and chat with us and others about submitting.

Ahem, also! Please note that we do not give specific recommendations through our helpline. They must be general questions about the process, not just “Where do I send my 500-word story about diaper executives who start a cover band called The Doodie Brothers?”

Paid subscriptions are the only way we fund this newsletter. We are 100% human-made and paid. So if you have the means, please consider signing up.

Also, if you’re a paid subscriber you’ll find a downloadable spreadsheet at the bottom of this post with all of today’s opportunities.
