Hello, happy Friday, and welcome to Where to Pitch This Week!

January is almost over! Hooray!

May the next month be at least a little bit less chaotic and full of garbage.

What Editors Are Looking For

AI? Ugh

You don’t have to write about AI. But AI is a major topic and editors will want some stories on it.

That also means that people are looking for thoughtful op-eds about unexpected side effects, green concerns, or other anti-AI pieces. You want to go deeper than, “What the hell, why do we want this?”

On the flip side, if you’ve found an unusual use for AI, a way it’s saved you time or money, or another unlikely upside of the technology, that’s fair game too.

TikTok Ban 2: The Legend of Curly’s Gold

The TikTok ban didn’t last, but it’s still very up in the air. Anything about TikTok trends, post ban, insights, or op-eds on the future of the platform would be really interesting right now.
