I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen when I click that ‘continue’ button because I’ve never used threads. I don’t want everyone to get another email so if that happens, I’m sorry! I tried to make it as a ‘chat’ but fuck that it was so janky and just vomited all the words together on the page. OK, fingers crossed. We’re experimenting with everything over here.
Since this is called a ‘thread’ and threads tend to be for conversations, we can take this as an opportunity to ask, “Hey, do you want to hear about contests as well as magazine closings? Cause we got ‘em. Yeah, let me know.

Cave Canem Poetry Prize:
*collection of poetry
Eligibility: All unpublished, original collections of poems written in English by Black writers of African descent who have not had a full-length book of poetry published by a professional press.
The manuscript must be paginated, with a font size of 11 or 12, and 48-75 pages in length, inclusive of title page and table of contents. A poem may be multiple pages, but no more than one poem per page is permitted.
This contest is an opportunity to not only lean into the poetic exploration we encourage in all of our submissions but also to take us on an extended venture into the terrain of your work, in (starting from 15) up to thirty pages of poems
Prize: $2000 (plus perks)
Fee: $25
This contest reads blind and has the option to request editorial feedback.
