I know this is a little bit older post and this comment might not be seen, but wanted to say I loved this interview! The "needing attention as an introvert" is a perfect description of me haha. Although I'm not sure it's to be liked because I can't seem to stay away from writing that skews sarcastic/snarky. I do try to be nice in real life though. I just had a story accepted by Defenestration! Thanks for reposting this list of humor magazines. I haven't heard of a lot of them!

One of the challenges for humour writers from the England, Ireland, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand is that, in general, there is a chasm between them and US humour publications. What many Americans find funny (at least what American humour editors find funny) flies like a lead balloon in the broader English-speaking universe. Yes, of course, there is some cross-over but irony, subtlety and the slow burn of true satire seem largely missing in action from US humour publications, which is a shame for all concerned.

Yeah I remember you mentioning this before. I'm really glad you started Witcraft. Are there some magazines on this list that aren't America-centric?

Two that I know accept a broad range of origins for their humour are Defenestration and Little Old Lady Comedy. The rest on your list are either US-focused or for specific demographics. UK sites are mostly focused on local political satire. The Shovel does a good job in Australia but doesn't normally seek submissions. As the article says, there is a dearth of humour sites for writers who prefer wit to sledgehammer 'humor', although many accept humorous stories as part of their general submission process. Such a list would be very helpful. PS - A lot of the Submit links you posted generate 404 errors.

We have many writers from PIC on our platform too and love the work Court and James have done.
