Last Chance to Submit: Fiction, Poetry, and CNF Opportunities for May 23rd-30th
16 magazines closing this week with a bit of commentary about each.
Since there are fewer closings this week, we thought it would be fun to do some individual Submissions Help.
If you are a paid Sub Club Subscriber:
Comment the cover letter for your piece below (genre, word count, title, blurb)
Include any 2 details: e.g. “I’d like a top tier magazine,” or “I’d like a magazine that presents work well,” or “I’d like a magazine that doesn’t charge a fee” and so on.
Include your 3rd-person bio (optional)
We’ll respond with a magazine recommendation we think fits.
This week, we’ve got two workshops that still have spots.
The first is Description and Sensory Detail in Fiction with Aatif Rashid.
And Writing Personal Essays About Pop Culture with Lizzie Lawson

Dear editor:
Perhaps the deadline for getting submission advice has past, but today I would like to submit my prose poem, "The Dreams Pianists Dream." It is about trying to play piano pieces so difficult they are nearly impossible. In a way, this could be considered an ekphrastic poem about certain pieces of classical piano music, works by Balakirev and Ravel. I realize that this can make the audience a bit specific. I am looking for a publication that might be interested in this kind of work. I would prefer top-tier or near top-tier, but I am open to suggestions.
Thank you in advance for your consideration,
Mark Hendrickson (he/him/his)
