Good news, everyone!1

We're changing some things up around here. “Around here” being our Where to Submit Monday newsletter.

  • FIRST: We're moving our Submission Help Hotline to the "Chat" feature on Substack and opening it up to everyone for free. Please, come and ask any questions you have about submitting or the writing world. Please, do not share your work, ask for where to submit a specific piece, or be an asshole.

  • SECOND: Our blocks of text were super long. This made the whole newsletter super long. So we've condensed the information and popped a key at the top. It's fairly straightforward. R: Response Time, A: Acceptance Rate, and so on. We will always keep that key at the top. Please comment with your feedback. We have also updated them to include:

    • Only the genres that they are open for.

    • Whether they’ve won awards or not.

    • Their total social media following across platforms.

  • THIRD: We want to hear from you. So we're opening up submission success stories. Every Monday, comment with one line about a piece you've gotten published over the past week or so. Keep it super simple, please. We don't want it to be overwhelming. Something like, "My story 'Dogs on a Cold Copper Floor' was published in The Paris Review last week!" or "I had three poems accepted to Shenandoah." Feel free to drop a link as well. We want to help get more eyes on your work.

    • Hard Rules: Keep it to one line. Must be within a week or two.

Try it out now:

We've got some more exciting news coming next week, too! But for now, check all of this out and let us know what you think.
