So, we’ve taken a lot of writing workshops. And taught writing workshops. And put writing workshops in a confetti cannon to blow out over football stadiums. They were not impressed.
Truly, there are so damn many workshops and they are so damn expensive and I eventually gave up on them cause I could never figure out if they were any good without spending a bucket of money. Like, I’m spending $450 for a few hours a week with someone! That’s a dumb money. That’s like 400 tacos.
So last year we thought long and hard about how to make a new style of writing workshop that was affordable but still attracted badass instructors. And viola! The stupid behemoth that is Substack gave us the platform to do it. And so we launched our sister Substack, The Forever Workshop. And it’s now the 8th biggest education newsletter.
Because hell yeah it is.
Basically, we turned workshops into a subscription service. One instructor teaches an in-depth workshop every month to our audience. And you know what they say! If it ain’t broke, you better fix it!
So we’ve got some plans for 2025. Because 8th isn’t enough. We want to be #1. But more than that, we don’t want folks to have to pay outrageous rates for writing workshops (PLUS we want to be able to pay instructors so well they don’t have to charge that).
We’ve filled our entire year of workshops with a heavy focus on craft. We’ve brought on a new community lead to drive conversations and connect writers to grow and learn together.
And we are not increasing our prices one bit. $10 per month or $100 per year. Comes with access to our full archive of 12 self-paced workshops from 2024.
