It would be stupid of me to say that getting rejection is shitty, but sometimes one feels a little stupid and leans into it…which is…what I’m doing here. Let’s commiserate a bit friends. It’s only February and I’ve racked up so many rejections already (I’m guessing editors are clearing out their 2025 queues which is good?). If you’re like me, or if you’re new to submitting, then I’ve got a little treat for you. Inspired by my own doldrums, I’ve decided to put together a list of my favorite lit mags that are way more statistically likely to accept your work than reject it.
Now, can you submit here and still get rejected—uh YEA! But this is the reason I have 19 lit mags below alongside my favorite thing about each of them. These are personal recommendations from over a decade of submitting experience. Submit to one but better yet, submit to ‘em all. Let’s go!
