Update: We’ve got 18 slots left for our Submitter’s Club. It will likely sell out by the end of the week, so if you’re interested, you can sign up here. (It comes with comped access to Sub Club.)

There’s a lot out there about six-figure book deals. Some talk about its dangers, while others break down how they landed one. All in all, as with many things, the consensus is a big ole: it depends. On how beneficial it actually is. There are many authors who cannot repeat the magic of the six-figure book deal while others seem to just get those (not many of these “others”). And then there’s the fact that, increasingly, 6+ figure book deals are reserved for celebrities or almost-celebrities (think massive social platforms).

So what does that mean for us on the ground trying to grind away on our stories and hoping they land with the top 5 or at the very least…someone good? For one: that we’re aware of the nuance and complexities behind these big deals but also that there’s no harm in hoping and absolutely none in trying and aiming high. Yes, you might not land an agent who can land you a big book deal. But to quantify “big”, it can be important to look beyond numbers.

Though if you’re like me and love numbers, here’s a list of 9 agents who have landed multiple (I’m talking over 30, 40, 50, sometimes 100+) 6+ figure book deals!

This list includes:

  1. The agent & agency they work for

  2. What they are looking for right now

  3. Favorite books/writers where we could find that

  4. Authors they’ve represented

  5. Where to query them

What else do you want to know? If we can find it, we’ll include it.

Here’s an example of what that looks like (from our previous memoir agents list):

This is one of our paid subscriber lists this month. Our paid subscriptions are what give us the ability to gather all of this information and maintain our database. If you have the means, you can upgrade here.

Of course, we are always happy to help those in need; just let us know.
