20 Pitch Calls from Paying Publications
Where to Pitch This Week (1.10.25) | Editor requests from Salon, Nat Geo, Parenting Magazine and more. Plus paid opps in culture, news, film/tv, gaming, and parenting.
Hello, happy Friday, and welcome to Where to Pitch This Week!
It’s the first issue of the New Year, so hooray. Also, I live in Los Angeles, so less of a hooray for that right now.
I’m fine and my house is fine. The fires are horrible, but at least the fatalities are very low and people are effectively evacuating when they need. You’ll still have lots of pitches in this issue, but I apologize if the descriptions are a little shorter than usual. I just got internet back and am trying to catch up with things!
What Editors Are Looking For
Black History Month
Lots of editors are calling for Black History Month pitches. And even if they haven’t specifically asked for them, it’s very likely they’re looking.
This is the best time to pitch because February is already gaining on us and editors want to make sure they’ve got some good pieces banked for the month.
Fires
You don’t need to write about the Los Angeles wildfires. But if you have a story that could relate to the topic of wildfires, editors will likely be looking in the next few weeks.
