17 Pitch Calls from Paying Publications
Where to Pitch This Week (11.22.24) | Editor requests from Cosmopolitan UK, MIT Technology Review, and Grazia UK, plus paid opps to write about audio, art, and Star Trek.
Hello, happy Friday, and welcome to Where to Pitch This Week!
Did I heed my own warning from last week and prepare for Thanksgiving? No. I still need to buy things and I’ve given myself too much to do.
Hopefully, you are not like me and are preparing for some tasty food next week and a few days off. Or, if you’re not in America, happy week before Black Friday. Enjoy the many deals and may you save 50% on stuff you were going to buy anyway.
What Editors Are Looking For
February
Thinking ahead to 2025 still feels far away, but editors are already in the future waiting for our pitches.
With January, there’ll be lots of “New Year” content and coverage of the US inauguration. March is the start of spring, offering different food, travel, and fashion stories.
But what about February? February is an overlooked month that needs content just like any other time on the calendar. Since editors will be taking February-themed pitches soon, here are some Feb dates to help inspire stories:
Black History Month (US): All Month
National Cancer Prevention Month: All Month
National Women’s Inventor’s Month: All Month
Groundhog’s Day: February 2nd
National Pizza Day: February 9th
National Inventor’s Day: February 11th
Valentine’s Day: February 14th
Presidents’ Day: February 17th
Random Acts of Kindness Day: February 17th
Mardi Gras: February 25th
Ramadan: February 28th
